Over 100 members of the Jewish legal community have signed a letter to the Knesset, laying out the legal issues with annexation.

Ten American Jewish organizations, members of the Progressive Israel Network, penned a letter to Alternate Prime Minister Benny Gantz and Foreign Minister Gabi Ashkenazi, opposing annexation.

They "write with grave concern about the risks such a move would pose to a future of democracy and equality for all Israelis and Palestinians."

Sir Mick Davis stated "as large swathes of the Diaspora see Israel’s liberal democratic values under threat, Diaspora Zionism will dwindle, leaving the case for Israel solely in the hands of hard right cheerleaders."

More than 400 Jewish and Israel studies academics have signed a statement denouncing potential Israeli annexation of parts of the West Bank

The motion warned that "Annexation creates significant diplomatic risks for Israel. It risks making Israel a pariah in growing segments of the international community. "

Briitsh Liberal Judaism leaders strongly condemned Israeli plans to annex West Bank territory and warned that it would damage the peace process and have a negative impact on Israeli-diaspora relations.

The letter was written and is endorsed by the ten member groups of the Progressive Israel Network. 

Affiliate members of the Zionist Federation UK have criticised its chair in a letter over what they claim were “wholly inappropriate” comments on the planned Israeli annexation of parts of the West Bank.

38 elected representatives at the Board of Deputies signed a letter demanding the organisation’s honorary officers condemn Israel’s plans to annex parts of the occupied West Bank.

In an Op-Ed for Le Monde, French Jews such as Dany Cohn-Bendit, Alain Finkielkraut, Bernard-Henri Levy, Dominique Moisi, Pierre Nora, Diana Pinto, Anne Sinclair and Benjamin Stora, spoke out against the annexation of part of the West Bank,

In an unprecedented act of unity, 58 prominent Canadian Jews - all of whom identify as pro-Israel - have urged Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to re-affirm Canada’s opposition to the unilateral annexation of West Bank territory. 

In an unprecedented letter to Israel’s UK ambassador over 40 prominent British Jews including call annexation ‘an existential threat’.

“The result of annexing the West Bank would be the creation of one state between the Mediterranean and the Jordan River in which there would be, if not a majority Palestinian population, at the very least something very close to it. This majority would either have equal rights to those of Israelis, threatening Israel’s Jewish character, or they would be kept as second class, non-voting citizens, which would threaten Israel’s democratic character.”

“We have a symbiotic relationship with Israel and so of course it is our place, and of course we should make clear our views – were annexation to go ahead the damage to our collective and shared values would be irreversible. It would be a calamitous step into the unknown. We have to speak out for the values that the data shows we share. At this moment in time, the stakes are too high not to.”

“Eight member organizations of the Progressive Israel Network join all those standing up against annexation and for Israeli democracy and Palestinian rights. We welcome the leadership of lawmakers in Congress, who, consistent with the consensus view of the Israeli security establishment, are making clear the tremendous threats that annexation poses to the interests and shared values of both the US and Israel. These Congressional leaders are demonstrating true friendship to Israel as advocates for peace and democracy.”
